The term “lighting” is widely used by everyone, but not everyone knows its definition. The dictionary says that the lighting definition is:

1- The act of igniting or illuminating;

2- The arrangement of lights to achieve a particular effect;

So we understand that the lighting definition is the use of light to achieve certain effects, it might include both artificial sources of light such as lamps or natural illumination like the daylight. During the day, daylighting is usually the main source of light, instead of artificial lighting, which represents a major component of energy consumption. During the night, however, the indoor lighting is through light fixtures and it is a crucial part of interior design.

Interior Lighting Design

All interior designers know the importance of appropriate types of lighting in every kind of space, as it plays a critical role in creating the perfect ambient and the right mood. These designers have different resources of lighting to help them adjust accordingly to the clients’ needs.

The first layer of lighting used by designers is general lighting, which is the light used for the illumination of the overall space. These provide basic lighting requirements and allow users to move and walk around safely.

The second layer is task lighting. Designers study the various tasks that will be done in the different rooms and have to make sure that there will be adequate and strong enough light for these specific tasks, such as reading and cooking. This is where our products come into play. Table lamps are a favourite when it comes to providing task lighting and helping people do what needs to be done. All in great fashion, of course.

The last layer is decorative accent lighting, used for decorative purposes and creating strong visual impacts. It is mainly used to highlight certain elements like sculptures, paintings or architectural features.
